Freight guidance built around what you make.

Every product ships differently. Pick your industry for the equipment, handling and receiving questions that matter to your freight — then tell us about what you ship and we'll be in touch the day we open.

Why the product matters as much as the lane

A freight quote that only asks for ZIP codes and a weight is a guess. The product decides almost everything else: which trailer fits, how the freight is secured, whether the load runs out of space or out of legal weight first, who unloads it, and what the receiver will reject at the door. That is why a good plan starts with what you are shipping and where it is going, not just the mileage.

Our industry pages fall into two broad families:

  • Packaged freight into distribution centers and warehouses — consumer packaged goods, shelf-stable food and beverage, electronics, tires and household products. These mostly move in a 53-foot dry van, and the hard part is usually the receiving dock: appointments, PO numbers, pallet specs and paperwork.
  • Open-deck and component freight to plants, yards and jobsites — steel and pipe, solar components, motors, switchgear and machinery. These move on flatbeds, step-decks or hotshots, and the hard part is usually securement, weather protection and whether anyone at the site can actually lift the freight off the trailer.
What a good quote should look like in every industry: written and itemized, saying what is included, what could change it, and who is responsible for each appointment — before you book. That is the standard we'll hold ourselves to once we open.

What changes from one industry to the next

QuestionWhy it differs by product
Weight or space?Beverages and metals hit legal weight first; tires and light consumer goods fill the trailer first.
Enclosed or open?Packaged goods need a clean, dry van. Long, heavy or crane-loaded pieces need an open deck.
How is it secured?Load bars and straps in a van; chains, straps, edge protection and tarps on a flatbed.
Who unloads?DCs have docks and lumpers. Jobsites may have a forklift, a crane, or nothing at all.
What gets a load refused?Wrong PO, missed window, damaged pallets, odor or contamination, missing paperwork.

Don't see your industry? Tell us what you ship

The list above reflects where we write the most guidance, not the only freight we will look at. Distributors, suppliers and manufacturers ship plenty of products that don't fit a neat category — packaging and raw materials headed into a plant, replacement parts, fabricated equipment, building products. If it fits a dry van, flatbed, step-deck or hotshot, send us a note about what you ship and we will tell you honestly whether it will be a fit once we open.

Planned coverage once we open: Hotshot and flatbed freight nationwide (lower 48). Dry van truckload across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. USA only — no cross-border, no drayage, no rail, no temperature-controlled freight.

Not sure which trailer your product needs? Read our hotshot vs. flatbed vs. dry van guide, or tell us about your freight and we'll include a trailer recommendation when we contact you.

Industry freight FAQ

Will you only work with the industries listed here?

No. These are the product groups we write the most guidance for, not a closed list. If your freight is palletized, crated or open-deck and fits a dry van, flatbed, step-deck or hotshot, send us the details through the contact page and we will tell you plainly whether it will be a fit once we open.

Why does my industry change a freight quote?

Two loads with the same weight and lane can need different equipment, securement, appointment handling and unloading. A pallet of bottled water weighs out a van long before it fills it; a bundle of pipe needs chains and edge protection; a switchgear cabinet needs to stay upright. Knowing the product is what lets a quote price the move that will actually happen.

Will you offer refrigerated, hazmat or heavy-haul freight?

Refrigerated freight will not be offered. Shipments involving regulated materials, such as lithium batteries or some aerosols and chemicals, will be reviewed load by load using the safety data and classification you supply. Engineered heavy haul and rigging are outside our planned scope.

What should I have ready before I ship?

Pickup and delivery locations, ready and delivery dates, what the product is, weight, piece or pallet count with dimensions, and how it loads and unloads at each end. Our free Quote-Ready Checklist puts all of it on one page.
